This page is aimed at ALL professional staff of the Department of Psychology, Victoria Hospital, Swindon circa 2004. Please read this and respond as below - remember, this might have been YOU, had you been brave enough to step forward, instead of hiding in the woodwork in the chaotic, bully culture at AWP. Even now, NHS Improvement are 'working with' AWP Board, to improve their Governance and the way staff whistleblowers are treated. It is clear the Board are still influenced by malign individuals - there is no other excuse for the stone-walling of victims like myself and Helen - and, in my case, falsifications presented by certain seniors about a 'settlement' made by Barrister Anya Palmer during a time I was suffering reactive depression. After reading this, and/or watching the video, I urge you to help NHS Improvement understand causal factors, thus making a helpful contribution to the reduction of workplace bullying in the NHS:: england.whistleblowing@nhs.ne
WHY YOU WERE ALL ethically responsible for the bully culture that developed
Collectively, YOU ARE ALL SHARE RESPONSIBILITY for the chaos at AWP- at the beginning, this was an outpouring of anger and frustration with terms and conditions at 'Agenda for Change'. Dr Howells reacted by bullying, covering her actions through sycophants whom I later name. New and vulnerable staff were targetted - disabled staff like myself. I was diagnosed with autism during treatment for depression triggered by Howells' bullying then false counter-accusations by Howells, Barnes & Stapleton blaming me for the departmental chaos. I believe Howells also maltreated Sheila Molloy and others who did not come forward. Under a burden of bitching about pay and conditions, Howells' inner sociopath had taken flight. When I went to HR, requesting mediation, Howells refused, then escalated a raft of astonishing lies - claiming I had been 'borrowing money off staff', 'messing up a computer report that took 2 days to put right, that my father sexually abused me and 'I was 'using core time to tell staff' about it - escalating to a wicked claim of criminality, that I had, 'threatened staff with physical violence'. Because none of you came forward, this vile revenge attack was believed - leading to 18 YEARS of trauma, as I slid down the social scale, being robbed of a CAMHS contract under false pretences and losing what little dignity I had left. All the while, Booth and Stancliffe were suppresseing and hiding vital documents, which I now have, proving Howells, Stapleton and Barnes colluded to save the former's career.

Because Stapleton refused to speak to me or attend mediation, I had no way of countering the vile accusations, which took place in my absence. In the end, four of us 'blew the whistle'' but were ignored by the Board, who had been swayed by Booth, Stancliffe and later Jerrom. Sycophants, Stapleton, Barnes and Morrison, were given undeserved favours by Howells in return for support. promotion or unethical assistance with University essays. I make no apologies for naming miscreants - they ruined my professional reputation of 20 years standing, leading to the loss of my career and my home. I endured several bouts of clinical depression before a suicide attempt.
Bystanders running away instead of contributing enabled a farcical , biased witchhunt by Booth and Stancliffe which remains a shame and blight on AWP,. By inaction, you allowed four of us whistleblowers to suffer the brunt of Howells' vindictive and callous revenge - a raft of wicked lies.
Why Lack of Leadership contributed to the bully culture
Bully or blame cultures do not exist in isolation - everyone is involved, Yes, you too, if you were a bystander or passed gossip to Victoria Barnes; failing in her undeserved promotion and too willing to foist stress on someone else. By failing to report stressors, you condemned colleagues to become scapegoats (victims). In a mature environment, leaders would have organised meetings to air issues, allowing newbies like me to introduce themselves, thus foiling the blamers from colluding, based on what suited them. By 'leaders', I mean those paid to lead but who failed to do so- Howells, Stapleton, Corfe, Law, Reid, Pregnall et al. Through such failures look what resulted - blaming, over-expectation, spite, false assumptions, selfishness, diving for cover.

It contains my suggestions as to how HR systems and legislation can be changed, so this NEVER HAPPENS TO ANYONE ELSE. This too any of you leaders might have done - but it was left to me, as a result of which I lost everything I worked hard for, for decades. Everyone knew the department dysfunctional yet because no one opposed them, blamers held sway - Stapleton wrote; 'there was a black cloud over the department and that was down to Marianne.' Myself & my Mackenzie friend gathered evidence that had been suppressed, hidden or tampered with, by 'Dignity Investigators'. New member of staff Alan Metherall followed in Stancliffe' footsteps, by faking a report commissioned by BANES Health Commissioners - this fake report is also missing. By 2020 I presented a 117 page evidenced report to the Senior President of Tribunals also to NHS England and NHS Improvement. My successes with outside NHS Investigation Agencies are detailed on this website. But what did YOU do? What can you do, nearly 16 years later? A lot, actually.
What Can You Do to help reduce bully cultures in the NHS - and improve AWP?
NHS England & NHS Improvement are striving to 'improve the NHS' by improving its Governance and the way Boards handle complaints. To do this, they need intimite knowledge of HOW & WHY the NHS is failing. From where does this intelligence originate? From whistleblowers like me, Helen and Rahim. After a career at public expense, it is time to PLAY YOUR PART. Email : NHS Improvement or be shamed by inaction. And that goes for Lift Psychology, Swindon, who deny history and their forbears' suffering.
