Hurrah for Matt Hancock [new UK Minister for Health]' when he admits the low morale of NHS staff is 'heartbreaking' and how he is 'horrified' by the level of bullying in the NHS [BBC news 20th July 2018]. At last someone in authority admits what we 'in the business' have known for years. Many staff are too frightened to speak out, fearing job loss. In this blog, you will discover how NHS organisations get away with gross behavior, using bully-boy legal teams and name blackening to silence whistleblowers. That is why I am campaigning to get the law changed [see campaign tab].
Regular readers will know I too suffered life-changing losses after whistle blowing - then subjected to 13 years [so far] of denial & name-blackening by Trust seniors of Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Trust (AWP). They refused to meet at ACAS, repeated hearsay # to my MP [Jacob Rees- Mogg] and many help agencies. In 2017 they had the arrogance to ignore directions of a Tribunal Judge to talk to me. They do not act as a large, influential Mental Health Trust should, but a law-unto-themselves, institutionalised mob. This behaviour is commonplace among toxic employers.
# An email came into my hands just weeks ago. Chris Stancliffe [HR Manager who bungled a vital HR process in 2006] wrote that I 'physically threatened' staff - repeating this vile hearsay to AWP IT, and using it as a lever to withold information I requested under FOI. He had hidden this email from Tribunal disclosures thus ensuring I could not receive proper help or advice or a proper Judgement.
The police inform me there is insufficient evidence Stancliffe 'meant me hurt', suggesting I use the Tribunal process. Instead, I complain to AWP, demanding his resignation. What do they do? Instead of being horrified/ apologising /promising to investigate, they ignore me. I write back, pointing out the Trust have not responded within 30 days [their own rules!]. They reply a 'legal process' is underway and they do not intend to respond. This 'legal process' does not exist - they refer to my private meeting with an Appeals Judge to discuss Bevans behaviour, which has tacit approval but not yet arranged. Theirs is a clever 'catch 22' ploy - used many times:
HOW NHS DEPARTMENTS BLOCK COMPLAINTS:
1. you are stressed, tread water and cannot act - they ignore you
2. you inform them you are beginning Tribunal - they instruct a legal team /ignore you
3. Tribunal send ACAS mediation forms - you consent, they refuse
4. [documents are altered /'disappeared' /bully-boy legal tactics block you from Tribunal hearing]
5. they wash their hands /do not investigate your complaint
6. you try to get a human response - they claim to have settled
[a pathetic sum, made during your trauma, after they blacklisted you/ closed ranks ]
7. you try help agencies - PALS, NHS complaints, your MP
8. they doggedly follow 'we have settled' route/ Chinese Whisper lies to help agencies.
9. you demand help agencies investigate [see 7.]
10. cover-up in full force- 'Stancliffe's' [or [Chinese Whispers
11. you are ill with worry/ get angry / write to anyone who might help
12. they label you a trouble-maker - you are no longer human to them
13. every time you recover, you try again - they block / make 'in' jokes / close ranks
14. you return to Tribunal - the game returns to 2. on so on
15. in 'jokes' at your expense increase/ hardening attitudes/ outrageous Chinese Whispers

MUSINGS OF MR STANCLIFFE - direct quotes by a supposed professional HR Officer at a forensic unit in Bristol; itself the subject of many complaints by patients' relatives.
‘nor do I even think a Tribunal is likely to take much interest in her case, given she declined to participate in the previous grievance process’ [Being depressed, I was referred to an AWP mental health team for suicidal ideation - DURING the process Stancliffe & Jerrom set up. ]
‘I had no particular involvement in the Trust's preparations’ [but gave plenty of ‘witness statements,’ passing vile, unsubstantiated remarks to IT, Dr Jerrom & HR – thence to the former CE & Board]
‘I have only had very limited involvement in the Trust's defence’[yet made plenty of noise..]
‘I understand.. there was full disclosure of documents in 2008’ [yet asked IT to withhold documents and 'helped' the legal department 'prepare' documents for Tribunal.. presumably during the time many documents mysteriously disappeared /were altered]
‘She has been employed by [xxx] for seven years so she has seemingly been able to hold stable employment’ [with a good work reputation and testimonials - so why did AWP cancel a work contract, illegally with no further 'investigation'?].
'Marianne refers ..to other litigation..such as a personal injury claim against the Trust (..this was considered .. to be out of time), and other litigation which seemingly resulted in Marianne losing her home’ [Bevans were excellent at blocking justice - as Stancliffe is expert in denial]. [seemingly? You had the news report - saw my downward spiral, yet did not intervene']
‘I understand that Marianne published an entirely new book .. Marianne also published online guidance to aspiring authors. These imply that Marianne had capacity to bring her claim.’ [cybers-stalking / playing, ‘aren’t I a good boy’ to the Board. Any HR professional or psychologist worth their salt know people are encouraged to normalise during trauma].
'Marianne has seemingly continued to engage with these issues both in writing and psychologically since 2006' [Stancliffe appears at a loss as to why a victim might keep seeking justice, after such trauma and life-changing losses..]
The more I read this batch of disclosures the more angry I become. There is clearly someone at the helm, not only the overt ones - the gang of six. I will find out who and bring them to justice!
Meanwhile, you who lost homes and livelihoods, do not despair. If I die before I finish this campaign, I will pass the baton to a charity. I have to live day-to-day and don't always have energy to do what I want to do or need to do and keep moving to avoid social housing bullies. This horror impacts my daily existence, as no doubt it does yours.. But that is no reason to give up.
I isolated the following pattern, which may help you in coming to understand what happened to you and why. It certainly helped me & I hope it will help HR's, so added it to, 'Beating the Bully', due to be published in October by Straightforward / Emerald.
The pattern of victimisation (scapegoating)
This pattern is probably known to psychology but I have no training in that direction. I was due to take a Degree with the OU and had funding but suffered a breakdown after my divorce, so it never happened. It never will, as I intend giving up mental health to concentrate on the 18th century - the experts I meet are genuine and value me - unlike the toxics of AWP.
I never would have used this term (it smacks of medievalism), but the latest tawdry revelations and actions of Jerrom, Booth, Stancliffe, Stapleton lead me to it. I am sure this will echo among readers bullied out of careers and losing everything. I hope this comforts, in validating your experiences too (do write and share!). Denial and silence makes an ordeal much harder to bear.
I hope my campaign for FAIR DEALING will bear fruit. 'A tiny bit of hope,' as Thai navy seals said of the recent tragedy-turned-joy. Meanwhile, read my story and try to recognise patterns of behaviour in your own story. It will help make sense of what happened which is vital for closure. Antagonists may have removed your voice (as medieval torturers removed the tongue of victims) but you CAN get it back. Howells claimed I said she was, 'the conduit of evil'. When I protested I had not, she replied, 'Yes you did! I wrote it down.' This indicativates her growing paranoia - also, her notes on me and other staff. So she felt guilt deep down, for the bitter, false accusations after I reported her emotional abuse of me; the false performance management; lies to colleagues to get them on her side; denial all down the years as I fought for justice, begging her to tell the truth. Her guilt is also shown by an over-egged reference for me for University, weeks after falsely accusing me of bullying her and 'everyone in AWP'. She then denied it, claiming it was other Stancliffe and HR.. 'The evil that men do lives after them. The good is oft interred with their bones.'# Oh, indeed!
I doubt their '30 day' investigation will come to anything - another whitewash judging by their past performance. They have even been cyber-stalking and stalking me, cutting every aspect of my life with their filthy knives. The scars will be life-long thanks to their bungling. I thank God I had writing and study to keep me going or I would have gone insane for good - or returned to that cold railway station for the last time.

Well, I [metaphorically] abseiled to my 65th. Bear G. would be proud of me. Maybe plumbing the depths of Howells' dysfunctional kingdom gave me the strength to be immune from knocks. And if I survive, dear reader, so can you. All of you!
I was recently asked why I fight on. I never wanted to, but after years pass you don't want to think of this time/effort as wasted; to say nothing of the trauma they put you through. All campaigns began as moral wrongdoing and someone's urge to put things right. I did want the life I chose not the bruising life of a campaigner, yet there IS destiny in this.
I can even make black humour. It's like lifting the curtain in a French farce and [ooh la la] AWP caught with pants down.. But rather than admitting adultery [=adulteration of evidence now embarrassingly exposed] they are STILL tut-tutting over contents of condoms [= false ejaculations]. It's the AWP Magician's circle - a tawdry circus exposed by me.
But what to do? Surviving documents are in my database carefully tagged by subject, date and waiting a QC. I have so much insight into what you all suffered, how and why. These are tragedies not tawdry farces when the safety curtain falls. The play is over - our suffering goes on.
I watched the magnificent BBC production of, 'An Inspector Calls,' last night. I could so easily have been that girl. Yet I am not. It cannot have been for nothing.

My 65th in a few days and I had hoped for closure on the train wreck of my life left me by AWP. Years ago, I had looked forward to my new career in the NHS, aiming to set up a Maytree [respite for depressed people] in Bristol after MSc. Little did I know those vile individuals would leave me needing a Maytree myself.
What I would give to have not accepted the job from Elizabeth Howells, leaving a safe post at Wiltshire County Council where I would have received a decent pension. Of all the jobs I've had AWP was the worst - shocking in an organisation that claims 'we care'. The only thing the Board care about is themselves.
HR bleet they have '30 days' to respond to my complaint about Stancliffe. 30 days! I had to bite my tongue, having waited 12 YEARS for them to listen. Meanwhile those 3 bitches spread their malicious gossip. I can imagine the protagonist smirking, having her revenge by abusing HR systems to punish me. The truth will out they say - and slowly it bubbles up..
The wheels of justice turn like a creaky mill wheel. I am shell-shocked after the latest disclosure of vile gossip by a BUSINESS PARTNER of the Trust [Stancliffe, who conducted the so-called 'Dignity at Work' [attached, as it is useful learning for readers in HR]. No wonder I was subjected to so much AWP hostility down the years. CE Iaian Tulley made comments to my MP, Mr Rees-Mogg, which never made sense to me - until now.
Stancliffe wrote to IT that I, 'threatened staff with physical violence,' claiming this must be true 'because two psychologists implied it.' He asks IT to withhold certain documents I requested under FOI. And whom does he write made this vile claim? Howells & Booth. 'O villains, villains, smiling, damned villains!'# This toad ### puts his foot in it by boasting, 'we gave her [me] an administrative settlement..less than legal costs.' Why? Maybe this - he wrote to HR how he thought he was 'being toyed with' by me and someone responded, 'yes you are!' And they call me vindictive..
I knew something dark lay at the heart of their hostility. Conrad's book ## is nothing to this! Whether AWP Board & CE Hayley Richards admit wrongdoing, I will be speaking to a Judge informally to see if I can get high up input into this gross wrongdoiong. Meanwhile, I will analyse & publish evidence as it arrives - if any of you are HR seniors, it is useful learning of how not to conduct things. I may not get my longed-for PhD but can turn my experience to the good. My cause reflects countless ex-employees with lives ruined through abuse of HR systems. I shall campaign until this is changed - see campaign tab. I hoped AWP would join me. Under the current regime, this looks highly unlikely.

I always knew someone was stirring the pot. I never dreamed it would be someone in HR. You should read what he wrote. I can't publish yet as I want the police to see it - and to test AWP [did they know and hide this..]. Thence to the original cause. Does one forgive vile lies, by a psychologist? When she so many chances to put things right? I cannot answer. This needs an independent enquiry.
If anything useful comes of 12 years suffering I shall make sure it does. Successful campaigns come from vile circumstances. I gather from Prospero that article 8 is regularly flouted in employment disputes. Here's my chance to make a difference to THOUSANDS of ex-employees with ruined lives.
