To reiterate successes so far:
1. AWP installed an anti bullying helpline a couple of years ago
2. In 2017, BANES Commissioners promosed to include preventative measures into their systems - i.e. check-backs designed to prevent in-house collusion. I will request details in a few months.
3. CQC [Care Quality Council] will consider my remarks/suggestions when AWP are next investigated. The spotlight now shines firmly on how and why AWP conducted wrong doing,
3b. I suggested to CQC that AWP are incapable of unbiased investigations and that these should be in future conducted by independent organisations, like ACAS.
3c. Concurrently, I suggested funding for legal teams be removed from AWP
As soon as Marianne receives closure, the campaign will focus on these changes being implemented across all NHS Trusts and, where appropriate, into legislation. Our hope is that AWP will have a change of heart and prove a beacon, by joining this campaign instead of blocking it.
These measures should help some of the 250,000 poor souls estimated by the TUC to be experienced bullying at work EVERY YEAR.
